DOORS OF OLD RAUMA
The "Doors of Old Rauma" is a project that's very close to my heart.
I lived in this beautiful town for several years.
I'm recreating the original doors from Old Rauma — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — as ceramic miniatures so you can have a piece of Rauma in your home.
And who knows, maybe a little elf, or Tonttu as it is called in Finnish, will move in behind the door when Christmas time comes, just like the traditional Christmas helpers who visit Finnish homes.
1ST AND 2ND DOOR
I can't really say why the first door became the first door. Maybe because it's centrally located in Rauma, yet somehow unassuming. Perhaps because I often saw it while sitting in the café enjoying glögi or a cinnamon roll. Or maybe it was the color combination of calming purple and blue. Whatever the reason, it was the one I chose and I'm still very happy with my decision.
And what comes next? I wanted another somewhat understated door, but one that was still characteristic of Rauma. So, at first glance, you might think you know which door it is, but it's not that one. It's the little sister of the famous door that everyone in Rauma knows and often walks past.

A LITTLE BIT OF FUN
On the back of the packaging, you'll find the address, the name, and a QR code indicating the location of the corresponding door in Rauma. I thought it was a nice touch that this information isn't directly visible but has to be scratched off. This gives you the opportunity to explore Rauma yourself and see if you can find the door during a leisurely stroll. Perhaps it's this little bit of playfulness and fun that a Tonttu brings to a house, which I add to every door when I finally attach the sticker to the packaging.
